Guide To Make Up Tattoos

Guide To Make Up Tattoos

Cosmetic tattooing is where tattooing is used to give the impression of makeup. It is often used for eyebrows (via microblading) but it can be used elsewhere on the body and face. Here is a guide to some of the most common cosmetic make up tattoos, from eyeliner to covering scars.

Guide To Make Up Tattoos

Permanent Eyeliner

Tattooed eyeliner is becoming ever more popular. This permanent makeup technique involves adding either brown or black ink to the eyelash line to give the impression of perfectly done eye makeup. It can be made to look like eyeliner or even to give the appearance of fuller lashes if the tattoo ink has been placed well.

Lip Blushing

Lip blushing is another popular treatment for people who lack strong natural pigmentation in their lips, who would like to enhance their lips’ natural shape, or simply to add fullness. Lip blushing tattooing includes lining and filling in the lips with a colour bespoke to the individual. There is little or no downtime afterwards, minimal discomfort and the whole procedure can be done in as little as two or three visits. Sun exposure and exfoliants mean that lip blushing will last between one and two years before a touch-up session is required.

Scar Camouflage

Cosmetic tattoos are not just limited to the face: scar camouflage is a service offered by most cosmetic tattoo studios. If you suffer from scarring or have areas of skin with lost pigmentation, then a custom-matched pigment can be used to carefully blend into the surrounding skin. Like most cosmetic tattoos, scar camouflage tattooing is permanent but occasionally requires a touch-up as scar tissue has difficulty retaining pigmentation.
