It’s one of the best-selling papers in the country, so it was great to see a journalist from the Daily Mail trying out the Coolift gun.
Daily Mail Coolift Gun Review
The Mail’s journalist, Alice Hart-Davis, reported that the facials Liverpool takes less than half an hour. She describes her skin being blasted with a gun-type contraption —the Cool Lifting Gun Liverpool — which emits a stream of frozen carbon dioxide, which you may know better as dry ice. The freezing (minus 20 degrees) temperature caused her blood vessels to contract and then dilate, which improved the oxygen and nutrient supply to her skin’s surface, making it look more radiant.
She went on to explain how carbon dioxide is mixed with hyaluronic acid. This hydrating substance can hold up to 1,000 times its own weight in water, so it is brilliant for the purposes of plumping skin. The high pressure of the stream from the gun means that the hyaluronic acid molecules are able to penetrate deep into the epidermis (top layer of skin).
Following the Coolift treatment, she enjoyed a facial massage, which helps to ease any puffiness in the face, sculpt the contours of the face, boost circulation and ease muscular tension.
Asked how it feels: she explained that “For the first four minutes, all I could think is: ‘How soon is it going to stop?’ “ as she got used to the gun’s high-pitched clattering, and blasts from the nozzle – which she described as feeling like a handful of tiny, needle-tipped icicles being driven into her face. Once that was over, the rest of the session was like a lovely massage.
She was impressed by the results, describing a “gorgeous clarity” to her skin, the wrinkles around her eyes almost disappearing and her lips being plumped.
