What Are Oxygen Facials?
Madonna has recently been reported to use oxygen facials to keep her skin looking so youthful and fresh. She certainly looks a lot younger than her years, but the oxygen facial treatment is not restricted to the biggest stars on the planet – in fact, you can have the same treatment right here at your Liverpool Beauty Salon!
What Does An Oxygen Facial Do?
Madonna has recommended the oxygen facial treatment both on her Web site and in a recent interview with Harper’s Bazaar. An oxygen facial involves a machine which sprays atomized moisturisers onto your skin with a stream of highly pressurised oxygen. It hydrates the skin immediately, making your face appear smoother and plumper. Although there is not a great deal of scientific research into its properties, proponents of the treatment swear by it as a way to make themselves look and feel better. The theory behind the oxygen facial is that the oxygen speeds up the skin’s absorption of moisturising agents such as hyaluronic acid. Hyaluronic acid is a carbohydrate molecule that can hold 1,000 times its own weight in water, and so helps to keep the skin moist and supple.
What is hyaluronic acid?
Hyaluronic acid is a naturally-occurring molecule which is used by the body to make collagen. Collagen keeps your skin soft and is composed of hyaluronic acid and protein. It is a perfectly safe, natural substance that does not strip away or burn at the skin.
What are Oxygen Facials?
The active ingredients that are contained in the special oxygen serum used in our Crystal Clear oxygen facial Liverpool help to restructure your skin, plumping out any fine lines and wrinkles. It has antibacterial properties, and so it is ideal to help people who suffer from a spot-prone complexion.
